I have been shopping at Walmart lately becasue my mom gave me some gift cards there. I ran across another bargain shopper who had all the weeks' ads stapled together at the checkout line. She was getting great prices becasue she had all of those ads and they were not too overwhelming because they were stapled into a book of sorts. I thought it was a GREAT IDEA!

Albertsons, Walgreens Success!

I just went out to get a few things that we needed. We switched our baby to soy milk to see if he would sleep better through the night and we also needed diapers. At Walgreens, I picked up the Huggies deal (Sale price $8.99 -$2 Huggies coupon -$1 off from the Coloring Book) My total was $5.99 each for 2 packs but since I had done the Triaminic Deals last week, I had 3 $5 coupons to pay for them. I added in some other things I wanted (candy) and then checked out. I paid $2.83 cents. Pretty good deal I think!

So then I went to Albertsons to buy the Soy Milk, a bag of chips and some eggs. The total would have been $12 something but since I had a $5 coupon from last week and since they let me use another $5 coupon from Walgreens (not all checkers do this-ask nicely) I again only had to pay about $2. I feel like I got 2 packs of Diapers, candy, Soy Milk, chips, eggs and 6 bottles of Triaminic all for about $35. It was a good deal because they were things we needed.

Albertsons Fun

I don't know why my camera doesn't take very good pictures- maybe its the operator! Anyway. I went to use the Double coupons at Albertsons because I was so excited about them and I was able to save, save and save! Total for this was $9.71! (I had $20 in coupons from last week). I did 2 transactions today. The first was the Hunts deal buy $25 and get $10 back. I bought 10 Hunts tomatoes, 10 ketchup's, and 2 PAM cooking spray along with 2 bags of carrots and 2 cheese slices. That total was $27.96 minus my $20 in coupons. I got my $10 back then my second transaction was all the rest with coupons. I used the double coupons on the mission tortillas and coupons again for the lemonade, carrots, cheese and Doritos! Total for that was $1.75 after my $10 coupon. I like this game.

Sorry I haven't blogged in a long time. I have had SEVERE competition for computer time but now that my kids are at school, I should be able to get more in. We have been on a shopping ban for a while and I have been so grateful for the couponing that I did earlier this summer that gave us plenty of supplies to live on. Anyway I just had to tell you about the ALBERTSON's ad in the paper today because it is a first for us. Look closely because there are very valuable DOUBLE YOUR COUPONS coupons from ALBERTSON's! These are the coupons that A Thrifty Mom always gets her best deals from. I am trying to get as many of these sheets as I can because this ad alone is worth $3 to each one of us! Just thought it was worth saying something!

On the 13th (tomorrow) they have Crazy Crafts for 4-11 year olds and on Friday the 14th they have a program called Indiana Bones at 10:30pm (3 and up). CVS has the greatest things sometimes!

Here is my loot, now guess how much I spent? $7.02! I did 3 transactions to get these things for $7.02 but it was worth it! Remember that great coupon we got in the mail for the new CVS store in Anthem? I used 3 of those coupons, the $10 off $20, and the 2 $5 off $15.

So- this is how I did it:

Transaction #1: 2 Mylanta Max Strength $10, 2 Nutragrain Cereal Bars @$1.88 Each, and 5 Bumble Bee Tunas for $1.25 Each.

Coupons: $10 off $20 CVS coupon, 2 $1.50 Mylanta coupons, 1 $1 off 2 Nutragrain coupon, and 5 $1 off Bumble Bee Tuna coupons.

Total for this was $1.42 out of pocket after coupons and I got $5 Extra Bucks back for the Mylanta

Transaction #2: 10 Nutragrain Bars totaling $18.80

Coupons: 5 $1 off 2 Nutragrain Bars, also the $5 off $15 CVS coupon, I also had $7 Extra Bucks from previous purchases. My total for this was $1.80

Transaction #3: 10 Kellogs Special K cereal boxes totaling $18.80

Coupons: 5 $1 off 2 Special K, the last $5 off $15 CVS coupon we got, and I used the $5 Extra Bucks from the Mylanta in Trans #1. My total for this was $3.80.

These are the things I am looking forward to: I signed my email up for a $5 Extra Bucks that will be coming soon- you can do that in store at the Anthem CVS. I also scanned my CVS card and I got a $4 off $20 that I will be using AND... I have qualified to send in my reciept to Kellogs for a $10 rebate. Getting paid to shop is where it is AT!!!

Don't miss Albertsons this week! They have a great sale giving you half of your money back! Yes for every $30 you spend you get $15 back. Take off you coupons and that is a great deal. Also, you can roll over this deal so when I went I spent my $30 (about $22 with coupons), got my $15 back and then used the $15 for my next $30 deal. I messed up my third transaction but it was my fault. I just quickly went home and stored my milk etc (you have to do that in Las Vegas or everything spoils) then went back and returned EVERYTHING from my third transaction so I could try it again. The customer service guys were really nice about it. That is why I don't have a picture or real numbers for you but I can tell you I spent about $40 and saved about $60! Things I bought: Milk, steak, lots of yogurt, Chex Mix, Chex Bars, Honey Nut Cheerios, Macaroni Grill dinner kits, Knorr Pasta Sides, Fruit Roll ups and more!

Sorry I haven't posted very much this month. August will be better. I haven't wanted to spend ANYTHING this month so I have just altogether avoided the stores. Good thing I have a stockpile! I am thinking about checking out this deal though. At Target, they are supposed to have travel size ALL Small And Mighty detergent and travel size Tide both for a dollar. You can pair this up with the 6/28 Red Plum $1 off coupon for ALL and the 7/5 Proctor and Gamble $1 off coupon for Tide making this a free detergent day! I think I have 6 or 7 P&G coupons and 3 coupons for ALL. That is 12 free loads! Another option would be buying these coupons on eBay or the other coupon sites.

CVS Deals this week!

I was not sure I was going to be able to use $5 in Extra Bucks this week because it JUST expired before I came back from vacation but the checker took it anyway. Also, my husband got something at CVS while I was gone and he got $5 in Extra Bucks I think from prescriptions we had earlier that print in July. So with my $10 Extra Bucks, I got the following:
1 Package of Pop Tarts
1 Five Subject notebook-CVS brand
1 Gillette Fusion Disposable Razor
-used 1 $4 coupon from P & G Brand Saver
-used $10 Extra Bucks
My Total Out of Pocket was $.28 and I received $4 Extra Bucks Back for the Razor and $3 Extra Bucks back for the notebook plus a $4 off $20 coupon printed out for me! Whenever I think this might not be worth the effort I am reminded by these incredible savings. Sorry no picture, I am out of practice.

Check your Reciepts

I got home from shopping yesterday and had a chance to look at my receipts. I am glad I went over them because I had 2 things happen that shouldn't have. At Albertson's I got charged twice for one set of hot dogs. Why would I buy two when I only had one free coupon? They took care of it with out any problems. At Smiths, I ended up with a box of Bisquick for $1.99 that I didn't even pick out. Did I need Bisquick? No, I already bought that last week for 30 cents each with a 60 cent off coupon. You know how it says under the line item on your receipt "You saved .80" to tell you how much you saved by being a rewards member? The girl at customer service subtracted that from my $1.99 before she gave me a refund. Wait a minute, I paid $1.99 but you are only going to refund $1.19? I thought that meant if I didn't have a rewards card, I would have paid $2.79. It is only .80 cents but I feel gypped! I am not going to drag my 3 kids back there though for .80 cents. Oh well.

I was going to use my $5 Extra Bucks at CVS today to scoop up the .99 cents Always Infinity pads, but when I got to the store and scanned my card at the magic coupon giver, I got a $5 off $15 coupon there! Score! I put my $5 Extra Bucks back in my wallet to spend another day and did this deal:

Eyeglasses for Pennies on the Dollar!

This is one of the best deals that I have found out about since I have been reading about saving money online. I found this website called Zenni Optical from Money Saving Mom and since my son just came home with a note that he needed glasses, I thought I would try it out. I went to the eye doctor and got his exam and prescription, then I ordered the actual glasses online at Zenni Optical. You do need to ask for a measurement they don't usually write down called pupillary distance but the doctor at Walmart was great when I asked her for it. (Some shops try to keep that to themselves so you have to get glasses from them.) Anyway, Zenni has some unbelievable prices on glasses, starting at $8. We ordered one pair of children's glasses at $8 and then splurged with another titanium half frame spring loaded frame for $22. Both pairs with anti-reflective coating and shipping cost me $48. If you have ever ordered glasses before, you KNOW that this was a great deal, especially since you also know these glasses will eventually be lost (kids). Also, they make you in charge of your prescription, so if you have the info, you can order a pair even outside of a year. This was a great example of me being able to Do More for Less!

Now, when I have a coupon for a dollar, I try to treat that like an additional dollar in my pocket. I KNOW I have saved money by doing this.

Free Kids' Movies For Summertime

Do you need a nice air conditioned environment and entertainment for your kids? Regal Entertainment has a GREAT program for the summer! Every Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10 AM, Regal Entertainment will show a FREE kids movie. This is first come, first served but when I have gone in the past, there has been no problem getting in. 8880 South Eastern Ave. Tuesday June 16th is the first movie, Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: Veggie Tale Movie (G) and Wednesday June 17th- 10AM movie is Evan Almighty (PG).

Totals for Albertsons Buy $25 and get $10 back sale

I am finished with my Albertsons shopping now for this sale. I basically bought everything on the list for the $25 deal that had a coupon for it. Most of the coupons I got online but there were a couple from the Red Plum. In addition to the picture in the last post, I also got the following(Sorry there is no picture for the rest):

The total for all these items before sales and coupons would have been $265.13 according to the savings boxes added up for all 6 transactions, but with my $10 coupons and sales and my Manufacturers and internet coupons, I only paid $55.33!

I just went to Albertsons to check out their buy $25 in selected items and get $10 back. It worked perfectly! I did 2 transactions and got my $10 coupon each time. If you want to do this too, a great resourse is AThriftyMom. She also has a great Questions and Answers about the sale here. She has all the links to print out these coupons (I did with 2 computers) and then you hand them your stack of coupons and you are getting these items for pennies! My total for my first transaction was $17.65 and my second transaction was $5.95 with another $10 coupon for my next trip !

I just sold back some law books to Cash 4 Books and it was easier than I thought. Although they didn't take everything that I wanted to unload, they did pay well for what they took. I sold 5 books and got paid almost $70 to my paypal account with free shipping. They will take any type of book if they have it on their inventory list. All you do is type in the ISBN number found on the bar code on the back of the book and they will tell you how much they will pay you for it. Then you just print out their shipping label and drop your books off. It is a great way to lighten the book load and get paid for it!

Krispy Kreme Donut Time Today Friday June 5th

My kids were so excited about this, we had to go get our Krispy Kreme Donut before school today. They let us pick out any kind of donut we wanted for our free one! CVS Diaper Run

I thought I had enough diapers for months, but Soren was sick for almost 3 weeks and we went through those diapers fast! This was the best deal I could find. I was going to buy 2 Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreens and get $10 back but then I looked at them and discovered that they were not really sunscreens. Not good for Las Vegas. The diapers were $8.99 each and I had one $2 coupon and one $1.50 coupon. Total out of pocket was $15.87. Better Luck next time!

Target for 40 Cents!

I didn't buy a lot of things, but what I did buy was esentially free! (OK so the soda was frivolous but I still have the tendency to impulse purchase). The Degree deodorants were $1.97 not $2.49 like they were in the rest of the country so I ended up making money on those to pay for my soda. So, I used the $1.50 off Target coupon from Red Plum and the $1 off coupon from SS. I only spent $0.40 on this trip. I would have bought more deodorants if I had the coupons for them. I was looking for more items (Quaker Pancake mix and the Hefty trial size bags) but I tend to stike out at Target quite a bit.

Did you know that at Old Navy Weekly they have coupons available? These are not just any old coupons, they are GREAT COUPONS! The way it works is that on the first day the new coupons are released, they have these awesome coupons, but only a limited number of them. This week there were $75 off $100 coupons (yes, you are reading this right), $50 off $100 coupons and 30% off $50 and other lesser coupons. I wasn't able to get the $75 off $100 because they went in a matter of minutes but I was able to get a $50 off $100 coupon. I went shopping today and I did better at Old Navy than I would have at Goodwill. Seriously. I will let you know when the next coupon release is.

According to Bargain Brianna, you can order a copy of the Red Plum insert to come to your home if you don't get it in the paper. I know that we get it in our junk mail but I thought that since we don't get it in our paper, I would try to sign up to get another one delivered to me. I did that about 2 weeks ago and it says 6 weeks so we will see if I get an extra one delivered to me.

Sterling's Birthday

I pulled it off! Sterling's birthday was a success. Everyone had a lot of fun. While I didn't make every choice based on the best deal, I was able to incorporate quite a few deals into the party making it less expensive, besides the fact that we only got Sterling 1 present and let the party do the rest.
Used the buy 2 Coca-Cola sodas and get 2 free and 1 free 24 pack of water free (used my $10 coupon too)= Total price around $5

Considering those deals I still spent $15 on pizza (Little Ceasars) and $45 at Party City. (Used 2 $10 coupons wyb $30 in 2 transactions)

Register Rewards at Walgreens

I am a little embarrassed that I bought that many Glucose meters. I bought 6 of them last week. Does anybody need a meter? I will have to find a good home for them. Anyway, with my $30 of Register Rewards, I bought squirt guns for my son's birthday party. I think the kids will like them and they were not so pricey for me. I also have eye patches and swords coming from Oriental Trading company. We are having a treasure hunt party with a pirate theme. Fun times.
